Editorial Policy
TIMOA's blog aims to help foreign companies and individuals doing business in Japan make decisions based on accurate information.
We go to primary sources
Explanations of rules are based on primary sources such as laws and regulations, materials published by government agencies, official circulars and guidelines. The materials we refer to are listed as sources at the end of each article.
Licensed professionals review the content
Articles with specialized content, such as law, tax or status of residence, are reviewed by a professional qualified in that field, who is named as the reviewer.
We state the reference date
Rules change. Each article states the point in time of the rules it is based on, and shows its publication date and last updated date.
Updates and corrections
When rules change or an error comes to light, we promptly update the article and record the change in its update history. If you notice an error, please let us know through the inquiry form.
Not individual advice
Articles are for general information only and are not legal or tax advice on any individual case. Please consult us before taking any specific steps.
